10 Best MVP Design Agencies for AI Fintech Startups - September 2026

MVP design agencies for AI fintech startups: ten studios ranked on money-moving product work, published pricing, team shape, and honest weaknesses.

Siddarth Ponangi

Founder, Studio Maydit

Design partner for AI companies

We design products and websites for AI companies that help them look and feel like a category leader.

If your first version handles somebody's money and a model is involved in the decision, start with three names: Studio Maydit, Lazarev, and BX Studio. The full top ten, in order, is Studio Maydit, Lazarev, BX Studio, Trueform, Pixelmatters, Feels Like, Feely Studio, Refokus, Fantasy, and Flow Ninja. Lazarev and BX Studio lead the competitors because both have shipped products that move money and both publish something you can check before a call. Fantasy and Flow Ninja close the list, both capable studios that publish almost nothing a first-time buyer can verify.

AI fintech has a trust problem in both directions. The user has to believe the product will not lose their money. The product has to believe the user is who they say they are. Both of those are interface work, and most first versions design neither properly.

Start with the irreversible action. Money moves once. A first version needs a moment where a person sees exactly what is about to happen, in their own currency and their own words, and can stop it. Get that wrong and your support inbox becomes the product.

Then there is the model's part. If an AI is categorising a transaction, scoring a risk, or drafting a payment, the user needs to see why, and needs to correct it without starting again. A silent wrong answer in fintech is not an annoyance, it is a dispute.

Third, onboarding is where most fintech first versions die. Identity checks, bank connections, and compliance questions arrive before anyone has seen value. A good design earns one small win before asking for a passport photo.

So the studio you want has designed a confirmation screen and a failed verification. Not a pricing page.

Each entry below ends with a table you can scan in under a minute.

Most AI products look the same. Yours doesn't have to.

How we picked these agencies

No studio paid for a listing and none were contacted for input. The evidence is entirely public: each team's site, its case studies, and directory records. Five questions, asked the same way of all ten.

  1. Platform depth. Does the team build products with accounts, balances, and states, or mainly marketing pages? A payment flow has more states than a whole marketing site, and it is the states that hurt.

  2. Financial-sector proof. Has the studio shipped for a company that handles money or identity? That work teaches a specific discipline: confirm before you act, show the number twice, and never hide a fee.

  3. Pricing transparency. Is a starting price published? For a founder spending a first design budget, a public floor is the only honest comparison available before a sales process.

  4. Team shape. How many people, and who is on it week to week? A first version is short, and seniority at the start decides whether the second month is building or repairing.

  5. The agency's own website. The one project with nobody else to blame for the result.

That last check counts for less here than in a brand project. A gorgeous studio homepage proves nothing about designing a failed bank connection. We read it for one signal: whether the team states facts or sells vibes, because fintech readers are allergic to the second.

Sources, plainly. The tables are built from public studio pages and directory listings as they stood in September 2026, with no gaps filled by correspondence. Where nothing is published, the row says Not published.

What goes wrong when an AI fintech startup buys MVP design

Three failures, and each one costs money rather than just goodwill.

Confirmation is designed as a formality. The final step is a small modal with a generic Confirm button, so people click it without reading and then dispute the result. The fix is dull and effective: show the amount, the destination, the fee, and the timing in plain words on one screen, and make the button say what it does. Ask the studio to show you a confirmation screen it has designed.

The model's judgement cannot be corrected. A transaction is miscategorised, a risk score is wrong, a draft payment goes to the wrong payee. The interface offers no way to fix it in place, so the user files a support ticket and stops trusting the automation. Design the correction path at the same time as the automation, never afterwards.

Verification arrives before value. Sign-up asks for identity documents and a bank connection on the first screen, before the product has done anything. Completion collapses and you never learn whether the product was good. Let people see a result on sample or read-only data first, then ask.

1. Studio Maydit: A Top-Rated Design Agency for AI Founders

Studio Maydit is a web and product design studio working with AI founders in the US, UK, and Europe. Work is built in Framer, Webflow, and custom code, and continues into product design after the site goes live. For a fintech first version that matters because the same team writes the claim on the homepage and designs the screen where a user confirms a transfer, so the two agree.

Dualite is the number on the record: past 100,000+ users inside seven months, off the back of a repositioned ICP and the design that carried it. Wave, PixelFlow, Mi-VAD, and 15 other AI and SaaS teams sit alongside it on the recent roster.

There are two ways to engage. Fixed scope takes three to four weeks and suits a team working towards a launch or a regulatory milestone. A monthly retainer fits teams still changing the product weekly and covers new pages, campaigns, and product design, with no long lock-in. Fixed-scope work ends with a diagnosis of what is leaking in the product, which in fintech usually means naming the step in onboarding where people give up.

2. Lazarev

Lazarev has worked from San Francisco since 2015, with 51 to 200 people, a published minimum, and published AI work for Payoneer, Peel, Elva, and Mozayix. Payoneer is a cross-border payments platform, which means this team has designed the exact screens you need: a confirmation a user cannot misread, a currency conversion, and a status that has to be honest while money is in transit.

AI proof is genuine but the studio is large, and a seed-stage build may not be a headline project. Ask who runs the week and how stable that is.

3. BX Studio

BX Studio is a New York team of 11 to 50 working mainly in Webflow, with a published minimum and AI client work for Reddit, Headspace, ASAPP, and Verifone. Verifone is payment hardware and software used at the point of sale, so the team has designed for the moment a transaction either completes or does not, with someone standing there waiting.

No founding year is published, and Webflow sits at the centre of the practice. If your first version is a logged-in account, check how much of that it designs.

4. Trueform

Trueform is a Swiss studio founded in 2022 working in Framer, with published AI work, a published minimum, and clients including Miro, Morning Brew, Bilt Rewards, and Gather. Bilt Rewards is a consumer financial product, so the team has had to make a rewards and points system legible to people who will not read instructions.

Team size is not published and the studio is young. Framer is strong for the public surface and is not where a payment state machine gets designed.

5. Pixelmatters

Pixelmatters is a Porto studio founded in 2013, with 51 to 200 people and a published minimum, for Rubrik, Quantic, and UJET. The work is dense enterprise software, and for a fintech dashboard with balances, history, and reconciliation, that density is the relevant skill rather than a flourish.

AI proof is partial and there is no published financial client. At this size, ask by name who is on your project and for how long.

6. Feels Like

Feels Like is a Los Angeles studio founded in 2023 writing custom code, with published AI work and clients including Google, Nike, LVMH, and Suno AI. LVMH work means designing for an audience where perceived quality is part of the product, which matters if your fintech sells on trust rather than on price.

It is a young studio publishing neither team size nor pricing, and there is no financial client on the public list. Ask what it has shipped with an account system behind it.

7. Feely Studio

Feely Studio is a small distributed European team of 1 to 10 with published AI work, a published minimum, and clients including Noxus, Mutiny, Luasai, and Basic Capital. Basic Capital is a financial product, so there is relevant sector work here alongside a price you can read without a call.

The team is tiny and publishes no founding year. A first version with a real payment flow needs more hands than this for research and states.

8. Refokus

Refokus is a remote German team of 11 to 50 founded in 2021, working in Webflow for Mural, BASF, Spotify, Yahoo, and BCG. BCG work signals comfort with a conservative audience and strict brand rules, which suits a fintech selling to institutions rather than consumers.

Pricing is not published, AI proof is partial, and there is no financial client on the list. The practice is marketing-led, so product evidence is thin.

9. Fantasy

Fantasy has worked from San Francisco and New York since 1999 across several platforms, with published AI work. Nearly three decades of product design is a genuine record and the strategic depth is real.

It ranks ninth on checkable evidence. No client names, no team size, and no pricing are published. A fintech founder who will be asked by a partner bank or an investor to show who built the product cannot assemble that from public material here.

10. Flow Ninja

Flow Ninja is a Belgrade Webflow studio founded in 2018 with 11 to 50 people. It can move quickly on a marketing site and works European hours, which is useful for an EU team that needs a launch page soon.

It ranks last for fintech. No client names, no pricing, partial AI proof, and no visible product work. For a first version that touches money, there is nothing here you can verify, and verification is the whole point in this sector.

How to choose between them

Sort by the step that is breaking, not by whose portfolio you like.

Money moves and people dispute it afterwards. You need confirmation designed properly. Studio Maydit or Lazarev.

Payments fail in front of the user and nothing explains it. BX Studio.

The dashboard has too much in it to read. Pixelmatters.

Consumers do not trust the brand yet. Trueform or Feels Like.

Then run one test on the first call. Ask how they would design a failed bank connection. A studio with fintech experience describes what the user sees, what the product retries, and what it says when it cannot say why. A studio without it will suggest an error toast, which is the answer that generates your first hundred support tickets.
