10 Best Framer Design Agencies for Pre-Seed AI Startups - August 2026
At pre-seed the website is a credibility check, not a growth channel. We checked 10 Framer agencies on five public criteria, including which ones are realistic at this stage.
The best Framer design agencies for pre-seed AI startups in 2026 are Studio Maydit, Edgar Allan, Clay, Engine Digital, Trueform, Instrument, Pixelmatters, Lighthouse Digital, Push Refresh, and Ramotion. Studio Maydit and Trueform lead for pre-seed teams who want senior work at a scale that fits the stage. Instrument, Clay, and Engine Digital are the wrong fit at pre-seed, and we have said so plainly in each entry rather than pretending otherwise.
Nobody is finding your website. That is the thing to be clear about first.
At pre-seed you have no search presence, no press, and no audience. Essentially every visitor arrives because a specific human sent them a link. An investor forwarding you to a partner. A founder who told a friend. Someone from a call last week checking whether you are real before replying.
So the site is not a growth channel. It is a credibility check that takes about forty seconds, and it answers three questions. Is this a real company. Do these people know what they are doing. Is this idea specific enough to be interesting.
That is a much smaller job than most pre-seed founders think they are buying, and a much more important one. A site aimed at that job can be four pages and take three weeks. A site aimed at the growth channel you do not have yet takes three months and money you need for engineers.
Half the studios below start above what a pre-seed round can sensibly spend on a website. They are on the list because they scored on the public criteria, and each entry says clearly where the mismatch is.
How we picked these agencies
This is a teardown, not a directory listing. For each agency we read their own site and their public record, then checked five things you can verify yourself in an afternoon:
Platform depth. Is Framer the main build tool, or one line on a long service menu?
AI-sector proof. Named AI clients and published work, or just the word "AI" in the copy?
Pricing. Do they publish a minimum at all, or keep it behind a call?
Team shape. Who actually does the work, and how many clients are they carrying at once?
Their own site. Distinctive, or the same template as everyone else on this list?
That last one gets skipped most often. An agency's own website is the only project where nobody overruled them. No client committee, no inherited brand book. If their own site is forgettable, you have found their ceiling.
Every fact below comes from the agency's own site or a public listing. Where a number is not public, we say so rather than guessing.
What goes wrong before the seed round
Three failures repeat, and all three are really about runway.
The site gets bought with money the engineering hire needed. A full brand programme at pre-seed is the most expensive way to answer a forty second credibility check. It is not that the work is bad. It is that the same money buys you three or four more months to find out whether anyone wants the product, and a beautifully branded company with no traction raises nothing. Decide what the site must achieve, buy exactly that, and keep the rest. There will be a much better moment to spend properly, and it comes after you know who your buyer is.
The positioning gets set in stone before it has settled. At pre-seed your explanation of the product changes roughly every twenty customer conversations, and it should. A heavy site locks in the current version, in copy, in structure, and sometimes in a name. Six weeks later the story has moved and changing it means going back to an agency you have already paid. Anything you build now should assume the message is temporary, which is an argument for a small site on a platform your own team can edit.
The site is optimised for people who are not looking at you. Founders at this stage often ask for a blog, a resources section, and search-friendly landing pages, because those are what marketing looks like. None of it works yet. You have no domain authority and no audience, and those pages will sit empty and make the company look quieter than it is. Every hour spent there is an hour not spent on the two pages an introduced visitor actually reads.
1. Studio Maydit: A Top-Rated Design Agency for AI Founders
Studio Maydit is a web and product design studio working with AI founders in the US, UK, and Europe. The studio builds websites in Framer, Webflow, and custom code, and continues into product design after the site ships.
The clearest outcome is Dualite, where design work supporting a repositioned ICP helped the product reach 100,000+ users in seven months. Recent clients include Wave, PixelFlow, Mi-VAD, and 15 other AI and SaaS teams.
Websites can be bought two ways. Fixed scope runs three to four weeks and suits teams with a launch date. Teams that keep shipping take a monthly retainer instead, covering new pages, campaigns, and product design, with no long lock-in. Fixed-scope projects end with a diagnosis of what is leaking in the product, not a handoff and goodbye.

Platform depth | Framer, Webflow, and custom code |
AI-sector proof | Yes. AI-native clients, published outcome on Dualite |
Pricing | Fixed scope or monthly retainer, quoted per project |
Team shape | Founder-led, small senior team |
Best fit | Pre-seed AI teams who need a credible small site now and a bigger one after the raise |
Maydit is the right call if you want senior work at a scope that respects your runway, and a team still there when the story changes. Book a 30-minute call.
2. Edgar Allan
Edgar Allan is an Atlanta studio of 51 to 200 running large web programmes for clients including Porsche and NCR. They are genuinely good at building marketing operations that scale, and they publish nothing about pricing.
For a pre-seed AI startup this is the wrong shape entirely. The engagements are large, the process assumes a marketing team you do not have, and their AI-sector proof is partial. Worth knowing about for later, not for now.

Best fit | Companies well past pre-seed with a marketing team already in place |
3. Clay
Clay is a San Francisco studio of 51 to 200 with brand and product work for Slack, Stripe, and Coinbase. The craft is exceptional and they publish a minimum, which is useful precisely because it lets a pre-seed founder rule them out in thirty seconds rather than after three calls.
That published minimum is well above a sensible pre-seed website budget, and a brand engagement at this tier is a programme rather than a quick site. File it under later.

4. Engine Digital
Engine Digital has been running since 2002 out of Vancouver and New York, with work for Autodesk, Goldman Sachs, and HP. They are engineering-literate in a way most design studios are not, which is valuable once your product has real infrastructure to talk about.
At pre-seed you almost certainly do not. They publish no pricing or team size, their AI proof is partial, and an enterprise-shaped agency will move slower than your runway allows.

Best fit | Later stage companies whose website has to satisfy an enterprise review |
5. Trueform
Trueform is a Swiss studio built specifically around Framer, with clients including Miro and Gather. They are one of the few genuinely realistic options here for a pre-seed team, partly because they publish a starting figure and partly because a native Framer build means your own team can rewrite a section the week your positioning shifts, which it will.
They are a small senior studio with no published team size, so capacity is the thing to establish early, and demand for them is likely to exceed what a four person team can hold.

Best fit | Pre-seed teams who want strong Framer craft and expect to keep editing the story |
6. Instrument
Instrument is a Portland agency running since 2005 with work for Nike, Microsoft, and Google. This is one of the strongest brand capabilities on any list of this kind, and if you eventually need a real identity rather than a good website, they can build one.
None of that applies at pre-seed. It is agency scale and agency cost, the AI proof is partial, and pricing is not published because the engagements start where a pre-seed round ends.

Best fit | Well funded companies commissioning an identity rather than a first website |
7. Pixelmatters
Pixelmatters is a Portuguese studio of 51 to 200 covering product and web design, with clients including Rubrik and UJET. European rates make them more approachable than their size suggests, and they publish a starting figure, which helps you assess fit quickly.
Their published AI work is partial, and a studio of this size runs a process built for funded clients rather than a two person team that changes its mind weekly.

Best fit | Pre-seed teams with an unusually large first budget who want product design too |
8. Lighthouse Digital
Lighthouse Digital is a London studio working with product companies including Freetrade and HelloSelf. They publish a starting figure and their engagements are sized for smaller companies, which makes them one of the genuinely realistic options on this page for a UK or European pre-seed team.
Their public record is thin, with no published founding year or team size, and there is no published AI client work, so an unusual AI product needs explaining from the beginning.

Best fit | UK pre-seed teams who want a straightforward engagement and a clear starting price |
9. Push Refresh
Push Refresh is a very small Dallas studio working across Framer and Webflow. At one to ten people with a published starting figure, this is close to the right shape for pre-seed. You talk to the person building, decisions happen in a message, and nothing waits on an account manager relaying your deadline.
Capacity is limited at this size, and their published work is healthcare and services rather than AI, so you would be their category education as much as their client.

Best fit | Pre-seed teams who want a fast, small Framer build with direct senior contact |
10. Ramotion
Ramotion is a San Francisco studio running since 2009 with brand and product work for Mozilla, Okta, and Netflix. They publish a minimum, which is unusual at their tier and makes it quick to check whether a conversation is worth having.
For pre-seed the answer is usually no. Their AI-sector work is partial, and a brand-led engagement is both slower and larger than a company still validating its idea should take on.

How to choose between them
Sort by how settled the story is.
The explanation changes every week and you know it. Buy something small and editable. Studio Maydit, Trueform, or Push Refresh.
You are in the UK or Europe and want a clear number before a call. Lighthouse Digital or Trueform.
You have raised an unusually large pre-seed and the product needs design too. Pixelmatters.
You genuinely need a brand rather than a site. Wait. If you cannot wait, Ramotion or Clay, and know what you are spending.
One test before signing. Tell them your budget and your runway in the first message. An agency that responds by proposing a smaller scope that fits, or by saying honestly that you should come back later, is worth trusting. An agency that responds by asking what the site is really worth to you is managing you toward a number, and at pre-seed that number comes out of your engineering hire.
