10 Best Framer Design Agencies for Solo Founders - August 2026

When you are the whole company, the scarce resource is not budget, it is the number of decisions you can make in a week.

Siddarth Ponangi

Founder, Studio Maydit

Design partner for AI companies

We design products and websites for AI companies that help them look and feel like a category leader.

The best Framer design agencies for solo founders in 2026 are Studio Maydit, Push Refresh, Trueform, Edgar Allan, Finsweet, Digidop, Refokus, Flowout, 8020, and Instrument. Studio Maydit and Push Refresh lead for this brief, because both are small enough that you deal with a senior person directly and neither requires a procurement process to get started. Instrument and Edgar Allan are the wrong fit here, since both run at 51 to 200 people or larger with no published pricing, and a one-person company cannot absorb the qualifying process before finding out whether it is even affordable.

Running a company alone changes which resource is actually scarce, and it is not money.

It is decisions. Every choice about the site competes with a support email, a sales call, a bug, and the thing you were supposed to build this week. A studio that needs eleven answers from you before Thursday is asking for a resource you do not have, and no amount of goodwill changes that.

The second thing that changes is who checks your thinking. In a company of twelve, somebody eventually says the homepage does not explain what we do. Alone, nobody says it. You read your own words for a year, they make perfect sense to you, and you never find out that the sentence everybody stumbles on is the second one.

Then there is the awkward matter of how you describe yourself. Solo founders tend to pick one of two failures. Either the site says we and implies a team that does not exist, which unravels the moment somebody asks who else works there. Or it is so obviously a one-person operation that a buyer with a budget quietly decides you cannot be relied on.

And there is a hard constraint most studios never think about. Whatever they build, you maintain. Alone. Anything that needs a developer is effectively frozen the day the project ends, because there is no developer.

The ten studios below are ordered by how well they work with a client who is also the entire company.

Most AI products look the same. Yours doesn't have to.

How we picked these agencies

Five checks, written for a buyer who is the whole company and cannot delegate any part of this:

  1. Platform depth. Is Framer a genuine practice, or a tool the studio will pick up because you asked, which matters when you are the one editing the site afterwards?

  2. Proof of working without a client team. Is there published work for very small companies, where nobody on the client side was a designer or a marketer to hand things to?

  3. Pricing. Is a starting figure published? For a solo founder this is the single most useful fact on a studio's website, because your alternative is spending three evenings on calls to learn you are out of range.

  4. Team shape. How many hands are there, and will the person who understands your business still be there in week three?

  5. Their own site. Could you edit something like it yourself? Look at whether the pages are made of repeating pieces or of one-off arrangements.

Weight the third check heavily, more than you would in any other situation. A published figure is not really about the number. It tells you the studio is willing to lose your business quickly, which is a kindness when your time is the scarce thing. Every studio that hides its pricing is asking for two calls before you can rule them out, and four of those is a working week you did not have.

The tables below hold only what each studio has published about itself. Where nothing is published, the row says nothing, since filling gaps with sensible estimates is how comparison pages become useless.

What goes wrong when a solo founder hires a studio

Three failures, and the first is the one that stalls most of these projects.

The project runs out of you. The studio needs the positioning, the customer quotes, product screenshots, a decision on the pricing page, and two hours of review every week. All of it has to come from one person who is also doing everything else. Projects with solo founders rarely fail on quality, they fail on client-side supply, and then the studio moves on to another engagement and yours restarts in six weeks. Fix it by front-loading. Before the project begins, block two full days in your calendar, write the copy you already know, gather every screenshot and quote, and hand over one folder. Then the only thing you owe anybody is a weekly hour.

Nobody in the process is allowed to tell you the message is wrong. You approve your own positioning, and a studio being paid by you has an incentive to build what you asked for rather than argue about it. So the site gets made, competently, around a sentence that has never been tested on a stranger. Buy the argument deliberately. Send your one-line description to five people who do not know your product, ask them to say what they think you sell, and take the answers to the first meeting. It costs an afternoon and it is the highest-return hour in the entire project.

You buy something you cannot maintain alone. Custom components, clever animations, a structure that only makes sense to the person who built it. It looks superb at handover and it freezes six weeks later, because the one change you want requires somebody you do not employ. Set the requirement out loud at the start. Every page type must be assembled from pieces you can duplicate and edit yourself, and before you sign the project off, add a full new page without help while the studio is still available to watch you do it.

1. Studio Maydit: A Top-Rated Design Agency for AI Founders

Three to four weeks, fixed scope. For somebody running a company alone the length matters as much as the price, because it bounds how long this project can occupy your attention. Studio Maydit also offers a monthly retainer for people shipping continuously, covering new pages, campaigns, and product design, with no long lock-in, which suits a solo founder whose site changes every fortnight better than a second project would.

The studio is founder-led with a small senior team, so there is nobody to route your questions through. It is a web and product design studio and its clients are AI founders in the US, UK, and Europe. Builds happen in Framer, Webflow, or custom code, and the work carries on into product design after launch.

Fixed-scope engagements close with a diagnosis of what is leaking in the product, which is the closest thing a solo founder gets to a second opinion.

One published number exists. Dualite reached 100,000+ users across seven months, following design work built on a repositioned ICP. Recent clients include Wave, PixelFlow, Mi-VAD, and 15 other AI and SaaS teams.

2. Push Refresh

Push Refresh is a Dallas team of one to ten working in Framer, with a published minimum and SmithRx, Synonym, and Northern National named. A published figure plus a team this small means you can decide whether to proceed from their website alone, which is precisely the shape a solo founder needs, and Framer is the practice rather than an accommodation.

Their AI-sector proof is partial, they publish no founding year, and one to ten people means a single calendar decides when your project starts, so a busy month for them is a delayed month for you.

3. Trueform

Trueform works from Wil in Switzerland, founded in 2022, building in Framer, with a published minimum, published AI client work, and Miro, Morning Brew, Bilt Rewards, and Gather named. That is a stronger client list than a small studio usually carries, and for a one-person company borrowing some credibility from the work is a legitimate reason to choose a studio.

They publish no team size, and a studio with a signature this distinct will bring it, which is a risk when your site needs to say something plain rather than look remarkable.

4. Edgar Allan

Edgar Allan is an Atlanta studio of 51 to 200 founded in 2014, building in Webflow, with Porsche, Duracell, and NCR named. The finish here is a level above most small studios, and if your product sells to large companies, looking established is worth something real.

They publish no pricing, their AI-sector proof is partial, and a studio of that size runs a formal process with several people in it, which is a great deal of machinery for one person to feed.

5. Finsweet

Finsweet is a distributed studio based in Denver, 51 to 200 people, founded in 2017, working in Webflow, with Dropbox, Clay, GitHub, and Steadily named. They publish a lot of their own tooling and thinking, so you can learn how they work for free, which is unusually generous for somebody with no budget for exploratory calls.

They publish no pricing, their AI-sector proof is partial, and they build in Webflow rather than Framer, which changes what you will be able to edit yourself afterwards.

6. Digidop

Digidop is a Paris studio of one to ten founded in 2021, working in Webflow, with a published minimum and TSE Energy, Ramify, and StreamNative named. Published figure, stated size, stated founding year. For a buyer whose main cost is time, a studio that answers all three questions before you email them has already saved you an evening.

Their AI-sector proof is partial, they build in Webflow rather than Framer, and a team of one to ten in Paris gives a narrow overlap if you are working from North America.

7. Refokus

Refokus is a remote German studio of 11 to 50 founded in 2021, working in Webflow, with Mural, BASF, Spotify, Yahoo, and BCG named. Eleven to fifty is large enough that one person being unavailable does not stop your project, which is a genuine advantage when you have no slack of your own to absorb a delay.

They publish no pricing, their AI-sector proof is partial, and the work is strongly craft-led, which is more studio than a one-person company usually needs and prices accordingly.

8. Flowout

Flowout is a distributed Webflow studio with a published minimum and Jasper, Kajabi, Riverside, and Sendlane named. The subscription model is worth considering here for a specific reason. A solo founder often does not need a project, they need somebody to make ten small changes a month without a new conversation each time.

They publish no founding year and no team size, their AI-sector proof is partial, and a throughput service will execute requests rather than tell you the requests are wrong, which is the thing you are missing most.

9. 8020

8020 works from San Francisco and New York, founded in 2014, building in Webflow, with Wave, Superlist, Pilot.com, Vanta, and Circle named. Every company on that list was tiny when the work happened, which suggests a studio comfortable talking to a founder directly rather than to a marketing department that does not exist.

They publish no pricing and no team size, their AI-sector proof is partial, and not publishing headcount is a particular problem when your main question is how much of somebody's attention you are actually buying.

10. Instrument

Instrument is a Portland studio founded in 2005 working across platforms, with Nike, Microsoft, Electronic Arts, and Google named. Twenty-one years and that client list represents the top of this craft, and it is included here mainly so you can see where the ceiling sits.

They publish no pricing, no team size, and no AI client work, and the engagements are brand programmes for large organisations, which is not a service a solo founder can realistically buy or usefully absorb.

How to choose between them

Sort by what is actually stopping you.

You want to decide tonight without booking anything. Studio Maydit or Push Refresh.

You need the site to borrow credibility you have not earned yet. Trueform or Edgar Allan.

Small changes keep piling up and none of them get done. Flowout or Refokus.

You want a system you can extend for two years. Finsweet or Digidop.

One test before you sign. Tell a candidate you will be the only person maintaining the site and ask what they would do differently because of that. A studio that has worked with founders alone will change the answer immediately, usually by reducing the number of unique page types and showing you how to duplicate one. A studio that says the platform makes it easy has not thought about it, and you will discover the difference in the first month after they leave.
